Wesley Fofana praises Liam Rosenior’s impact and higher tempo at Chelsea
Wesley Fofana has praised Chelsea’s new direction under Liam Rosenior, highlighting a sharper mindset and a more intense, front-foot style that has lifted the team in recent weeks.
The French defender says the squad has quickly bought into Rosenior’s ideas and is thriving off a more aggressive approach in and out of possession.
“We are working well and the mentality is top because the manager comes with a new mentality – a little bit more aggressive when we’ve got the ball,” Fofana explained.
“The team understands that and we’re working well. We’re in a good way for the rest of the season. It’s a little bit more direct, the tempo is a little bit more high.”
Fofana added that the demands without the ball have also gone up, with the Blues encouraged to press hard and win it back quickly.
“Without the ball as well, we try to put a lot of intensity into it to recover the ball quickly,” he said, underlining how Rosenior’s methods have created a stronger collective identity and a more confident, proactive Chelsea side.
Fofana has played 15 Premier League games and assisted once this season.
