Uganda remains hopeful about its qualification for the final round of the 2014 World Cup despite the strength of the opponent, Senegal. Milutin Sredojevic Micho, Uganda’s national coach, expressed his country’s determination to win the match against Senegal in a statement to APS.
“All six million Ugandans know that Senegal is the favorite, but we also have our self-esteem,” said the Serbian coach, who believes that the pressure will be on the side of the favorites.
Currently second in Group J with eight points, Uganda trails Senegal (9 points). The Cranes acknowledge the quality of the Senegalese players, most of whom play in European championships, and the experience of their coach Alain Giresse.
The choice of Morocco as the venue for the match could be an advantage for Senegal: “The Lions play in Europe, and Morocco is close to the lands where they play,” Micho noted.
