Former Al Ahly assistant coaches threaten legal action over unpaid debt

Assistants of former Al-Ahly coach Marcel Koller are threatening to take the club to FIFA over unpaid wages totalling nearly one million dollars.

While Al-Ahly reached a settlement with Koller himself, his assistants say no agreement was made regarding their compensation, prompting them to set a deadline for payment before considering formal action.

The coaching team has warned that failure to resolve the issue could see them lodge an official complaint with FIFA, escalating the dispute further.

Koller and assistants were replaced by Jose Riveiro in May 2025.

Meanwhile, Al-Ahly will face Smouha on Monday, February 23, at 9:30 PM Cairo time at Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria, in the 19th round of the Egyptian Premier League.
