German giants Borussia Dortmund are eyeing a move to sign England-born defender of Nigerian descent, Emmanuel Fernandez.

Fernandez, a 24-year-old central defender standing at 1.98 meters, has experienced a rapid rise after years of steady development. He joined Peterborough United in 2021 but featured sparingly for the first team, gaining crucial experience on loan at Barnet in the National League.

His first major success came in 2025 when he helped Peterborough lift the EFL Trophy with a final victory over Birmingham City.

In the summer of 2025, Fernandez moved to Glasgow Rangers for around €4 million. Initially a fringe player, he seized his chance following squad injuries, establishing himself as a key figure and contributing four goals in the Scottish Premiership.

His performances have also sparked discussions of a first call-up to the Nigerian national team.

According to reports from The Sun, both Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen are actively monitoring Fernandez, while top English clubs are said to be interested as well.

The defender remains under contract with Rangers until 2029, making any potential transfer a significant move in the upcoming transfer window.
