Senegalese defender Cheikhou Kouyaté, who plays for Anderlecht in Belgium, suffered a right thigh injury during the Lions’ third training session in Marrakech. The injury occurred following contact with another player, forcing him to be taken out of the session and preventing him from continuing. Senegal’s medical staff, led by Professor Fallou Cissé, decided to send Kouyaté to the hospital for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) to assess the extent of the injury. As a result, his participation in the upcoming match against Uganda on September 7, 2013, for the 6th and final day of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers, is uncertain.
