Vice president of Wydad AC, Saad Al-Drib, is hoping for an all-Arab final in the CAF Confederation Cup this season as clubs prepares for the quarterfinal matches.
The continental club competition enters the quarterfinals with an intriguing fixtures. Following the draw on Tuesday morning at CAF headquarters, Wydad AC and Olympique Safi have been paired in all-Moroccan affair, with victory crucial to securing a place in the final.
The quarter-final first legs are scheduled for 13–15 March 2026, with the return fixtures following a week later on 20–22 March.
Speaking after the draw, the vice president of the Moroccan outfit highlighted the positives of his side facing Safi, while setting sites on all-Arabic final.
“One of the positives is not traveling, which is exhausting in Africa. The cards are out in the open for us and for Olympique Safi” he told ON Sport:
“There are no easy matches during the tournament, but I hope that the semi-final and final will be all-Arab.”
Known for their exploits on the continent, Wydad AC will be hoping to triumph over Olympique Safi to secure a place in the semifinal.
On the other hand, Olympique Safi will be aiming to upset the Moroccan giants in their maiden quarterfinal appearance.
