As part of the preparations for the 7th Francophonie Games scheduled to take place in Nice from September 6 to 15, Gabon’s under-20 national team engaged in a friendly match against Marseille’s under-19s. The Pantheraux emerged victorious with a clear 4-1 scoreline.
Fodé Guirrasy netted twice, while Adberrahmane Youfsi and Michel Araai also contributed goals for the Gabonese team. Marseille’s under-19s, with the assistance of some reserve players, managed to score once through Kevyn Angoué, who converted a penalty at the end of the match.
Despite the positive result, Gabon’s technical staff recognizes the work that lies ahead before the start of the competition. Another friendly match against Nice is scheduled for September 4, and the team is gearing up for their first competitive encounter against Senegal on the 7th of the same month.
