According to the information provided, Anderlecht has no intention of selling Cheikhou Kouyaté during the current summer transfer window. Despite interest from some English Premier League teams, the Senegalese defender is expected to stay in Belgium. Anderlecht’s president, Roger Vanden Stock, mentioned that even with an offer of 7 million, they would refuse to sell Kouyaté.
The club values the defender and sees him as an important asset for negotiating their Champions League group matches. However, the possibility of a departure may be considered during the winter transfer window, with discussions potentially resuming in January. Alternatively, talks about a departure could also take place at the end of the season.
It’s also noted that Kouyaté was excluded from a match against Zulte Waregem during the 6th day of the Jupiler Pro League, and there’s a mention of a suspension being avoided due to a decision by the Belgian Football Union regarding an alleged foul on an opponent having an opportunity to score. The exclusion occurred in the 51st minute, and the match ended in a 4-3 loss for Anderlecht.
