The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has entrusted a Moroccan refereeing team with officiating the highly anticipated Round of 16 match between Cameroon and Nigeria in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Rachid Gued has been selected by CAF to lead the officiating crew, supported by assistant referees Zakaria Brinsi and Lahsen Azkaou, with Jalal Gued serving as the fourth official.

Samir El Kazzaz will assume the responsibility for Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology.

The showdown between Cameroon and Nigeria is scheduled to take place on Saturday evening at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium, kicking off at 9:00 PM, Morocco time.

This decision by CAF to appoint a Moroccan refereeing team underscores the continental body’s commitment to maintaining fairness and professionalism in the tournament.

As the Round of 16 unfolds, football enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the clash between these two African football powerhouses, with the Moroccan officiating crew poised to ensure the integrity of the game.
