Antoine Semenyo described his start at Manchester City as a “fairytale” after netting in Wednesday night’s 3-0 victory over Fulham.
The Ghanaian forward has now scored five goals in eight appearances since joining the Premier League champions from Bournemouth in January.
Speaking after the win, Semenyo credited his seamless integration to the club’s environment.
“(There’s) no secrets! It’s just being part of a great team, a great environment, the coach has been great and they’ve made it easy for me to settle. It’s all a fairytale right now,” he said.
The forward also highlighted the importance of maintaining momentum following City’s previous results.
“(It was) very important (to win). That was the message from when the game was done against Liverpool. Just backing up what we did on the weekend, it was a tough graft and we got the three points, today we did the same thing. I’m happy,” Semenyo added.
Manchester City are now three points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal, and Semenyo acknowledged the pressures that come with competing at the top.
“It’s new to me. I’m enjoying it. But obviously it comes with a lot of pressure and demands. We have the team to do it. We just need to keep going,” he said.
The Ghanaian forward’s impact has been immediate, giving City added firepower as they chase the league title. Semenyo’s confidence and composure in front of goal have impressed both fans and teammates, making him a key figure in Pep Guardiola’s plans.
Reflecting on the title race, Semenyo added: “Just going to sit tight and watch the game tomorrow and hopefully it goes our way so let’s see.”
