DR Congo secured a spot in the final phase of the CHAN 2014 (African Nations Championship) play-offs with a 1-1 draw against Cameroon. The Leopards had won the first leg 1-0 in Cameroon, and the 1-1 draw in the return match confirmed their qualification. The goals in the second leg were scored by Ebunga for DR Congo and Eba for Cameroon. However, there were reservations made by Fecafoot (Cameroonian football federation) against DR Congo after the first leg, and it remains to be seen how CAF (Confederation of African Football) will address these concerns. The CHAN is a competition exclusively for players who play in Africa and participate in national championships. DR Congo will join 14 other qualified teams in the tournament.
