South Africa outfit Orbit College have completed the signing of midfielder Lesedi Kapinga to bolster their squad as the club seeks to maintain their status in the top-flight.
Orbit have been busy strengthening their squad in a bid to survive their maiden top-flight campaign, having captured Surprise Ralani, Cyil Chibwe and Ramahlwe Mphahlele.
Kapinga now joins the group, arriving from Sekhukhune United, where he last featured after spells with giants Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.
The midfielder has committed his future to the club for the remainder of the season, with the agreement also including an option to extend.
“I can officially confirm to you that Kapinga has signed with us until the end of the season, with an option to renew,” the club General Manager Matome Kganakga told Soccer Laduma.
The timing of the move could see Kapinga thrown straight into the spotlight, with Orbit set to face his former club Sekhukhune United on Sunday. The encounter could mark his debut for Orbit in the PSL, offering him an immediate chance to revive a career that has stalled in recent seasons.
Currently sitting second from bottom on the league table, Orbit College are locked in a fierce relegation battle and are desperate to climb out of danger. The addition of a player with Kapinga’s pedigree and top-flight experience is expected to provide a timely boost as the club fights to secure its Betway Premiership status.
