Vincent Kompany, the Belgian footballer of Congolese origin (DRC), is determined to make a swift return to the pitch after sustaining a groin injury during Manchester City’s Premier League match against Newcastle on the first day of the season. The captain of both Manchester City and the Belgian national team was sidelined during City’s subsequent match against Cardiff.
Despite the setback, Kompany remains confident about his recovery and expressed his optimism in returning to action soon. He mentioned on the club’s website, “If I follow my plan, I will be back in a few weeks, maybe even sooner. I will probably miss the qualifying match for the World Cup in Scotland (Friday, September 6), but I hope to make my comeback afterwards.”
While acknowledging the disappointment of missing out on some matches, Kompany emphasized his commitment to working hard for a quick return. He assured that the current injury is unrelated to his previous physical issues and is confident that once he returns, everything will be fine.
