A member of Al-Ahly Club’s board and the general supervisor of its football team, Sayed Abdel-Hafiz, has approved the proposed move of rising star Bilal Attia to Spain’s Racing Club.
According to reports on Monday, Abdel-Hafiz informed the player’s representatives that initial clearance for the transfer has been granted.
Discussions are expected over certain contractual clauses, as the agreement would see Attia join Racing Club on a season-and-a-half loan, with an option for the Spanish side to make the move permanent.
Al-Ahly had previously received an official offer from Racing Club Santander, which the club’s management reviewed before granting the green light.
Born in 2008, Bilal Attia is regarded as one of Egypt’s most promising young talents.
He has previously undergone trials with German sides Stuttgart and Hannover, and impressed on the international stage with Egypt’s U-15 national team during last November’s Junior World Cup.
