Guinean midfielder Mohamed Traoré, who plays for Zbrojovka Brno in the Czech 1st division, underwent emergency surgery on Monday after experiencing a severe heart attack. The incident occurred on the team bus following the match against Banik Ostrava.
The 20-year-old was promptly taken to a hospital in Ostrava, where he underwent successful surgery to address a blocked coronary artery. As of Wednesday, Traoré’s condition is reported to be improving, with no observed post-operative complications. The club spokesperson, Jan Hrabalek, mentioned that there are positive indications, and it is anticipated that Traoré may be discharged from the hospital on Friday to continue treatment at home.
While Traoré’s life is no longer in immediate danger, his future in football remains uncertain. According to the club spokesperson, the extent of his career going forward is unclear, and even the doctors may not have a definitive prognosis at this time. The focus is currently on his recovery and well-being.
