The enterprising defensive midfielder emerged as the hero for his outfit, netting the match-winner in the 10th-minute mark, after capitalizing on a decisive pass from his teammate Jakob Moder to slot home.
The crucial 1-0 win has earned Feyenoord three valuable away points, and strengthening their hold on second place in the standings.
Utrecht were reduced to ten men in the final minutes of the match after the referee showed a red card to Miguel Rodriguez in the 78th minute, following his receipt of two yellow cards in just 17 minutes after coming on as a substitute in the second half.
With this victory, Feyenoord raises its tally to 42 points from 22 matches, occupying second place in the standings, 14 points behind leaders PSV Eindhoven, who have played 21 matches.
