Egyptian giants Al Ahly have returned to Cairo from Algeria after securing qualification for the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League.

The record Champions League holders settled for a pulsating goalless draw against JS Kabylie in the penultimate group stage clash, held at the Stade Hocine Aït Ahmed on Saturday, February 8, 2026.

Despite creating scoring opportunities, both teams were unable to find the back of the net as the game ended in a stalemate.

The draw sees JS Kabylie bow out of the CAF’s elite club competition despite having a game at hand in Group B, while Al Ahly secures a place in the knockout stage.

After grabbing qualification, Al Ahly’s delegation led by board member Mohamed El Garhy, arrived in Cairo on Sunday morning.

With one game to end the group stage games, Al Ahly are on top of Group B with 9 points, while JS Kabylie sit bottom with a paltry three points after 5 matches.

The Egyptian giants will take on FAR Rabat, who are second (8 points) in the final round of games in Group B, a match that will determine the winner of the group.

Al Ahly are gearing up for domestic competition and are expected to take on Ismaily in the Egyptian Premier League matchday 18 on Wednesday at Borg El Arab Stadium.

Al Ahly had drawn their last league match against National Bank with one goal each, leaving them in fourth place with 27 points, one point behind both Zamalek and Pyramids.
