AS Roma, currently active in the summer transfer window, is reportedly interested in Cameroonian defender Benoît Assou-Ekotto. The Italian club, led by coach Rudi Garcia, is exploring the possibility of an exchange between Federico Balzaretti and Assou-Ekotto. The potential swap has been mentioned, with Balzaretti under contract with AS Roma until 2015.
According to Sky Sport Italia, AS Roma is considering the exchange as they pursue deals for Chelsea striker Demba Ba and Tottenham players. Assou-Ekotto, who has been out of the Tottenham first team along with Emmanuel Adebayor, is reportedly open to the idea of returning to active competition.
