Toifilou Maoulida may be on the verge of leaving SC Bastia, as the striker doesn’t seem to fit into the plans of coach Frédéric Hantz. The 34-year-old Mahorais striker has started only once in the league since the beginning of the season. According to reports, AC Ajaccio has recently approached Bastia to discuss a possible transfer for Maoulida.
Maoulida, whose contract with Bastia runs until June 2014, has only played one Ligue 1 match this season with the Corsican team. Given the limited playing time, he could be considering a move to AC Ajaccio to seek a fresh start. Last season, Maoulida scored six goals in 31 appearances for Bastia, making him the second-highest active Ligue 1 scorer behind Bafétimbi Gomis.
