Pyramids FC assistant coach, Mohamed Nagy Gedo, addressed Ibrahim Adel’s impending move to Al Ahly following his loan spell from UAE’s Al Jazira to Denmark’s Nordsjælland.
Gedo stated, “As far as Pyramids are concerned, we are not focused on where Ibrahim Adel goes next. He is free to choose his path.”
The coach also shed light on why Pyramids did not secure Adel permanently during the winter transfer window.
“We had reached an agreement with Al Jazira to bring Ibrahim Adel back,” Gedo explained.
“However, the player requested a release clause of around $3 million and wanted to pay it in instalments. Although we met all his financial demands, we could not accept that arrangement.”
Gedo added, “It became clear that Ibrahim Adel was not fully committed to returning to Pyramids. Nevertheless, the club is moving forward strongly. Since his departure, we have won the African Super Cup and the Tri-Continental Cup, and our progress in both the league and on the continent has been remarkable. At Pyramids, the team always comes before any individual player.”
