The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has Ivorian referee Kpan Clement Franklin to officiate the CAF Confederation Cup clash between MC Alger and Al Hilal this weekend.
MC Alger, third in Group B, will host Sudanese club Al Hilal Omdurman in the penultimate round of the CAF’s elite club competition, with both teams seeking for the maximum points in the encounter.
For this decisive match at the Ali La Pointe Stadium, the continental football governing body has appointed the Ivorian tactician to lead the charge.
Kpan Clement Franklin, a FIFA international referee since 2020 will have the heavy responsibility of making decisions during this fifth round match.
He has experience in CAF competitions. He officiated at the last Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. Well before that tournament, he was at the African Nations Championship co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda in 2025.
In their first Group B match in November 2025, Al Hilal Omdurman beat MC Alger 2-1.
After four matches, Al Hilal sit top of the table with 8 points, followed by Mamelodi Sundowns, who has 5 pointes, whereas MC Alger occupies third spot with 4 points, with Saint Eloi Lupopo lying bottom of the table with 4 points.
