Al Hilal’s players and technical staff have received generous rewards following their landmark 2-1 victory over Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League.
The win, secured last Friday, marked Al Hilal’s first triumph over the South African side in five years, ending a seven-match winless streak against Sundowns dating back to 2021.
The result also propelled the Sudanese club to the top of Group C, with eight points from four games, while Sundowns sit second with five points.
The victory drew widespread praise within the club, with Assistant Chairman Tom Tahami providing an undisclosed incentive to both players and coaching staff.
“In continuation of his approach to supporting and demonstrating the football team in all events, the assistant chairman of the board of directors of Al Hilal Club, the virtuous engineer Tom Tahami, provided a special incentive to the members of the technical staff and players, on the occasion of the remarkable results achieved recently, especially at the group stage of the African Champions League,” the club confirmed on their official Facebook page.
“The move resonated widely with everyone, especially the players who expressed their appreciation and gratitude to the Assistant President for the valuable contribution, which reflects the overwhelming interest of the council towards the team, and the appreciation of the assistant chairman for his efforts”
Al Hilal will next travel to Algeria for a crucial Group C clash against MC Alger this weekend.
