Moroccan international Azzedine Ounahi has reportedly rejected a late move to Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, opting to remain with Girona during the current winter transfer window.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the Atlas Lions midfielder declined the German club’s approach, which arrived in the final hours of the window, choosing instead to continue his spell in La Liga.
Ounahi is said to be content with life in Spain, where he feels settled at Girona and remains focused on regaining full fitness and maintaining form as he targets a place with Morocco at the upcoming World Cup.
His priority is believed to be consistent playing time in an environment he is already familiar with.
The 25-year-old is currently sidelined after sustaining an injury during the most recent Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, and is working towards a return to action as he continues his recovery process
