Al Ahly is reportedly considering restricting star midfielder Emam Ashour from making television appearances during Ramadan.
The Egyptian international remains under suspension after failing to travel with the squad for their CAF Champions League clash against Tanzanian side Young Africans over the weekend.
A source close to the club told the media: “Al Ahly is considering banning Emam Ashour from appearing on television during the month of Ramadan. There are concerns that his comments could spark controversy given his recent actions.”
The issue is expected to be presented to club president Mahmoud El Khatib once an official offer for the player is received.
Meanwhile, Al Ahly prepare to face National Bank tonight in a Matchday 17 Egyptian Premier League fixture at Cairo International Stadium.
Emam Ashour, alongside teammates Yasser Ibrahim and Belamri, is set to miss the game.
The two sides last met in May 2025, with Al Ahly securing a 2-1 victory thanks to Wissam Abu Ali’s stoppage-time winner.
