Torino have completed the loan signing of Cameroon defender Enzo Ebosse from Udinese, as the Serie A club moves to reinforce its back line before the close of the European transfer window.

The 26-year-old joins the Turin side on a deal that runs until the end of the season and includes an option to make the move permanent.

Ebosse arrives from fellow Italian club Udinese, bringing an end to a difficult period that included an injury-disrupted loan spell elsewhere in Serie A.

The transfer was finalised in the closing hours of the window, underlining Torino’s urgency to address defensive concerns during a challenging campaign.

The club has struggled for consistency at the back, conceding 40 goals since the start of the season and carrying a goal difference of minus 18, figures that have left them looking over their shoulder in the relegation battle.

Ebosse’s arrival comes after the early termination of his loan move to Hellas Verona.

That spell was curtailed by injury, limiting the Cameroonian international to just four appearances and preventing him from establishing momentum.

Fully fit again, he now faces the task of relaunching his season and regaining regular playing time in a highly competitive environment.

For Torino, the signing represents a calculated attempt to add depth and experience to a defence that has been under sustained pressure.

Ebosse is already familiar with the demands of Serie A and is expected to adapt quickly, a key factor given the limited time remaining in the season.

The defender joined Udinese with the promise of becoming a long-term option in Italy’s top flight, but his progress has been slowed by fitness setbacks.

This loan move offers a fresh opportunity to reset and contribute consistently, while also placing his future firmly in his own hands through the option-to-buy clause included in the agreement.

Torino’s immediate priority remains securing enough points to preserve their top-flight status.

With the margins tight at the lower end of the table, defensive solidity has become a central focus for the coaching staff, and Ebosse’s versatility and physical presence could prove valuable in the weeks ahead.

As the season enters its decisive phase, the Cameroonian will be aiming to turn this short-term move into a lasting solution, while Torino will hope his arrival can help stabilise a campaign that has so far delivered more concern than comfort.
