The group stage of the 2025/26 CAF Champions League is approaching a decisive phase following the completion of four of the six scheduled rounds.

Sixteen teams, drawn into four groups of four, are competing for places in the knockout stage, with the top two sides in each group advancing to the quarter-finals.

Group standings after four rounds

Group A

Pyramids lead the group with 10 points, strengthening their grip on qualification. Morocco’s Renaissance Berkane sit second on seven points, followed by Zambia’s Power Dynamos with four. Nigeria’s Rivers United trail at the bottom with a single point.

Group B

Al Ahly remain top with eight points, but the race for qualification remains tight. Tanzania’s Young Africans and Morocco’s Royal Army are level on five points each, while JS Kabylie of Algeria sit fourth with two points.

Group C

Sudan’s Al Hilal lead the standings on eight points. South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns are second with five, while Mouloudia Club of Algiers and DR Congo’s Saint-Éloi Lupopo are level on four points apiece.

Group D

Stade Malien head the group with eight points, followed by Esperance of Tunisia on six. Petro Atlético of Angola remain in contention with five points, while Simba of Tanzania sit bottom with one point.

Qualification scenarios

Al Ahly

The Egyptian giants can secure qualification by avoiding defeat in both remaining matches against JS Kabylie (round five) and FAR Rabat (round six), or by winning either fixture—regardless of other results.

Pyramids

The defending champions are on the brink of qualification and require just one point from their final two matches against Rivers United and Power Dynamos to book a quarter-final place.

Group C outlook

Al Hilal need one victory from their remaining matches against MC Alger and Saint-Éloi Lupopo to advance. Sundowns, MC Alger and Lupopo all remain in contention, though their fate will depend on results in the final two rounds.

Group D outlook

Stade Malien appear closest to qualification, needing just one win from clashes against Esperance and Simba to progress.

With two rounds of fixtures still to be played, the standings across all four groups are expected to shift as the battle for quarter-final places intensifies.
