The leadership of the Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb appears to be nostalgic for the era of Vahid Halilhodzic. Following the Champions League defeat (0-2) against Austria, Zdravko Mamic, the president of the club, expressed his intention to bring back the Bosnian coach to lead the team, replacing the recently fired Krunoslav Jurcic.
In response to these reports, Vahid Halilhodzic stated, “I am still in contact with some leaders of my former club Dinamo. I often speak to the sports director, Zoran Mamic, but at present, it is only Algeria that interests me,” in an interview on Bosnian radio. The coach seems focused on his current commitment to Algeria and doesn’t show an immediate interest in returning to Dinamo Zagreb despite the expressed desire from the club’s leadership.
