Senegal defender El Hadji Malick Diouf has set his sights on helping West Ham United avoid relegation as the Premier League season enters its crucial stages.
The Hammers are currently entrenched in the relegation zone, sitting on 20 points after 24 games—just six points adrift of Nottingham Forest.
Despite a challenging campaign, Diouf remains focused on a clear objective.
Fresh from playing a key role in Senegal’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations triumph over hosts Morocco, the 21-year-old insists his priorities lie with his club.
“I only have one goal right now, before the end of the season, is to keep West Ham in the Premier League,” Diouf told SkySports.
“Only that. I will put all my energy for this team because they don’t deserve to go down.
“They [the fans] don’t deserve it. So, I will put all the energy that I have. What I don’t have, I will go to work and bring it for the team,” he added.
Diouf was in action during West Ham’s narrow 3-2 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and will be looking to inspire a turnaround when the Hammers take on Burnley this weekend.
