Saliou Ciss is making a move from Norway to Ligue 1 as the Senegalese defender is set to join Valenciennes. The northern French club officially announced the impending arrival of the “Lion of Teranga” from Tromso. Barring any issues during the medical examination scheduled for the beginning of next week, the 23-year-old Senegalese is expected to sign a four-year contract with VA.
Described as a left-hander capable of playing on the left wing or in the middle, Saliou Ciss has been with Tromso since 2010, recently participating in a Europa League play-off with a 2-1 victory against the Turkish team Besiktas.
According to reports from La Voix du Nord, Valenciennes will pay a transfer fee of 500,000 euros to secure the last year of the Senegalese international’s contract. Saliou Ciss was trained at the Diambars Academy in Saly Dourbel.
