Brazil international of Cameroonian descent Vinicius Junior ended his goal drought in the Spanish La Liga on Sunday with a crucial strike, as Real Madrid triumphed over Rayo Vallecano to close gap on Barcelona.

The 25-year-old winger started and played full throttle of the match, as the Spanish giants cruised to a 2-1 home victory over their opponent.

Real Madrid took an early lead in their clash against Rayo Vallecano, with the Brazilian-Cameroonian star unleashing a stunning strike, as the host went to the halftime break with the advantage.

The goal against Vallecano was his first since October 2025, coming against Villarreal. The attacking talisman of Los Blancos had gone 13 straight La Liga matches without scoring.

Rayo Vallecano responded swiftly after the halftime break, with Jorge de Frutos leveling the score in the 49th-minute mark.

But Madrid ensured the three maximum points stays at the Estadio Bernabéu, with Kylian Mbappe scoring a penalty deep into stoppage time after Brahim Diaz was brought down in the box.

The Brazilian-Cameroonian star has racked up seven goals and delivered eleven assists in 32 appearances across competitions this season.
