Al Ahly midfielder Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane has described the team’s draw against Tanzania’s Young Africans as a hard-fought result, pointing to challenging conditions and a demanding schedule at both domestic and continental level.

Speaking after the match, Ben Romdhane said the encounter was played in high temperatures and amid heavy fixture congestion, but insisted the Egyptian champions approached the game with a clear determination to win and secure all three points.

He noted that Al Ahly came close to claiming victory, but failed to make the most of the chances created, adding that the draw still represents a positive outcome in the context of the group stage.

The Tunisian international stressed that Al Ahly players treat every match with maximum seriousness and focus, underlining the squad’s ambition to maintain a winning run and collect as many victories as possible in their bid to progress deep into the competition.

Ben Romdhane also paid tribute to Al Ahly supporters who turned out in numbers at the Amani Stadium in Tanzania, describing their backing as a major source of motivation.

He reaffirmed that the team remains fully committed to winning matches and titles in order to continue rewarding the club’s passionate fan base.
