Al Ahly have successfully safeguarded their future rights before young talent Hamza Abdelkarim completes his move to Barcelona on loan.
The official announcement of the 18-year-old Egyptian forward’s transfer to the Spanish giants is now considered imminent.
Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo reported that one key condition between Al Ahly and Barcelona has already been resolved, clearing the way for the deal to go through.
According to the report, Abdelkarim has extended his contract with Al Ahly by an additional season, keeping him tied to the Cairo club until June 2028. This renewal was a strategic step by Al Ahly’s management to protect the club’s interests before allowing the player to leave on loan.
A tripartite contract has been signed between Al Ahly, Barcelona and the player, and Abdelkarim is expected to travel to Barcelona on Saturday for his medical examinations.
The loan will run for six months until the end of the current season, with Abdelkarim initially joining Barcelona Atlètic to continue his development within the famous La Masia academy.
The agreement includes a purchase option for Barcelona in the range of approximately 1.5 to 3 million euros, potentially rising to 5 million euros through performance-related bonuses, alongside a future sell-on percentage in favor of Al Ahly.
