Hotto, the player from Namibia’s national team, has clinched the Man of the Match award for the second time in the ongoing African Cup of Nations 2023.

Throughout the group stage, Hotto has remarkably earned the prestigious award twice in three matches, showcasing his exceptional contributions on the field.

Namibia secured their qualification for the next stage by playing out a goalless draw against Mali in the concluding match of the group stage, securing a spot among the best third-placed teams.

Hotto had previously earned the Man of the Match accolade in Namibia’s historic victory against Tunisia, marking the nation’s first-ever win in the tournament’s history.

This triumph was particularly significant as it marked Namibia’s lone victory in their fourth appearance in the African Cup of Nations.

Hotto not only secured the first-ever win for his country in Africa but also previously clinched a title by scoring two goals in the COSAFA Cup final, a tournament for nations in the southern part of the continent.

Ranked as the third-most capped player for Namibia, Hotto’s statistics in the match were as follows:

– Played for 90 minutes
– Completed passes with an accuracy of 63%
– Successfully delivered two accurate long passes out of three attempts
– Executed two successful crosses out of eight attempts
– Successfully dribbled once out of four attempts
– Won 4 ground duels out of 6
– Won 5 aerial duels out of 9
– Completed one successful ball recovery

Hotto’s remarkable performance not only secured Namibia’s qualification but also solidified his status as a key player in their journey through the African Cup of Nations.
