Mehdi Mostefa, who had a strong season with AC Ajaccio last year, is drawing interest from several Ligue 1 clubs. The Algerian defensive midfielder delivered a solid performance against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) at the Parc des Princes, contributing to a 1-1 draw for AC Ajaccio in a match for the second day of Ligue 1.
During the ongoing transfer window, Mostefa is reportedly being followed by clubs such as Bordeaux, Nice, and Olympique de Marseille (OM). In an interview with the Algerian sports daily Le Buteur, the 29-year-old Fennec (Algerian national team player) shared his thoughts on his future.
Mostefa stated that he is currently considering his options. While acknowledging the interest from other clubs, he emphasized that Ajaccio is not a bad option for him. He knows the club well, understands his value there, and is mindful of his international status. With less than a year remaining until the World Cup, Mostefa expressed a preference for joining a club where he would have a better chance of playing regularly rather than opting for a more upscale club where playing time might be limited, potentially affecting his international standing.
