The players of Union Sportive de Douala, the reigning champions of Cameroon, have been facing a challenging situation as they have not received their salaries since April 2013. The players, frustrated with the lack of payment, have decided to confront the management of the club to demand their rights.

As reported on the SynaFoc (National Union of Cameroonian Footballers) website, the last salaries received by the players were for the month of April 2013, and since then, no transfers of players’ salaries have been made. The players, including Ashu Tambe, Rostand Youthe, Martin Patrick Yonloa, Aaron Mbimbe, Happi Noubissi, Brice Owona, Mounchili Mfomban, Stéphane Meyoupo, among others, are affected by this situation.

In response to the players’ demands, Franck Happi, president of the Board of Directors, reportedly threatened to sanction any player leading a revolt. However, the players are determined to address the issue and are even considering boycotting the club’s next championship matches if a resolution is not reached.

According to Article 12 of the Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players from Clubs affiliated to FECAFOOT (Cameroon Football Federation), players have the right to terminate their contracts for just cause if they face three months of salary arrears. The situation reflects a challenging period for Union Sportive de Douala.
