Having earned the starting position towards the end of the last season, Vincent Enyeama has begun the new Ligue 1 season as the goalkeeper for Lille. The Nigerian international, who was on loan from Maccabi Tel-Aviv last season, is expected to play a significant role for the northern club this season. In an interview with the club’s website, Enyeama shared his feelings and ambitions with LOSC.
Expressing his fondness for LOSC, Enyeama praised the club’s magnificent stadium and the superb atmosphere that prevails. He conveyed his pride in being part of the region, making it easy for him to decide to return after his time in Tel Aviv. Enyeama mentioned that his dream was to play, and that dream has now come true.
Looking ahead to the season, Enyeama outlined ambitious goals for LOSC, stating, “If we manage to be on the podium this year, with Paris, Monaco, Marseille, Lyon, etc., that would be amazing. I don’t know if it’s going to happen, but I know we’re going to work hard for it.”
At 30 years old, and following a triumphant 2013 Africa Cup of Nations with the Nigerian national team, Enyeama is making a successful return to the North. Last year, due to the arrival of Steeve Elana, Enyeama found himself on the bench and was eventually loaned to Maccabi Tel-Aviv by LOSC.
