Soufiane Benjedida delivered a standout performance as Maghreb Fez secured a commanding victory over FUS Rabat on Saturday evening at the Grand Stadium of Fez, in a matchday nine fixture of the National Professional Football Championship.
Maghreb Fez dominated proceedings from the early stages and went on to overwhelm their visitors, producing a clinical display that underlined their strong form this season.
Benjedida was the star of the night, finding the net three times with goals in the 4th, 76th and 88th minutes to complete a well-taken hat-trick.
The home side’s control of the match was further strengthened when Shabani added another goal in the 11th minute, effectively putting the contest beyond FUS Rabat’s reach before the interval and maintaining the pressure throughout the encounter.
The emphatic win saw Maghreb Fez move up to 19 points, consolidating second place in the professional league standings and keeping pace at the top end of the table.
For FUS Rabat, the defeat proved costly, as their points tally remained stuck at seven, leaving them in ninth position after another difficult outing.
