Former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann has called on Egyptian international Mohamed Salah to consider departing Anfield at the conclusion of the current season, stressing summer exit could be beneficial for both the player and the club.
Hamann believes that the Egyptian star’s future has increasingly become a source of distraction under Liverpool’s new manager, Arne Slot.
“He had the chance to go to Saudi Arabia last season, and he did not… I am not sure he wants to go there.” he told BetGoat in an interview.
According to Hamann, prolonged speculation about Salah’s intentions and his long-term role at the club only serves to create distractions both on and off the pitch.
“The best solution would be to part ways… It would probably benefit him and the team,” he explained, adding that repeated questions about Salah’s position have made the situation more complicated.
