Kolo Touré, the Ivorian international and defender at Manchester City, is contemplating his future due to limited playing time at the club. As the third-choice defender behind Vincent Kompany and Joleon Lescott, Touré has found opportunities scarce. Despite being attracted by potentially lucrative contracts, Touré acknowledges that he may need to adjust his salary expectations to secure a move, especially if considering a transfer to a French club.
Having joined Manchester City from Arsenal in 2009 for €14 million, Touré has struggled to secure a regular spot in the starting eleven. With playing time limited, Touré is open to exploring options in France. Although the defender trained at ASEC Abidjan has been previously linked to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), he also mentioned the possibility of moving to Lille, where his compatriot Salomon Kalou is already playing. Touré believes he can still contribute to the defense of a French team and has expressed interest in the growing strength of the French championship. He stated, “Today there are teams like Paris Saint-Germain and Lille. This championship is becoming stronger.” The 31-year-old full-back is considering a potential move in the upcoming transfer window in January.
