Gabon had a challenging start in the Under-19 World Handball Championship in Budapest, Hungary. Placed in group D, the Panthers suffered two consecutive defeats, losing to Australia with a score of 37-22 (half-time score 19-11) and Hungary with a score of 29-17 (half-time score 15-9). After these two losses, Gabon is currently ranked 5th out of 6 in the group, awaiting the last three matches. In their upcoming games, Gabon will face Germany, Norway, and Venezuela on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, respectively. The climax of the competition is scheduled for August 23. Despite the challenging start, Gabon had previously won the Interamnia World Cup tournament in July.
