The Zimbabwe-Zambia match counting for the CHAN 2014 qualifiers faced an unusual situation when the referees scheduled for the game did not arrive in the Zimbabwean capital an hour before kick-off. Following a crisis meeting between the two federations, the match has been postponed until Sunday, August 18. Initially scheduled for this Sunday, the return match is set to be held on August 24. Zimbabwe had proposed to replay the match on Monday, a suggestion rejected by Zambia, which has a friendly match on August 14 in Paris, and some of its players need to fly tonight after the CHAN match. After Gabon’s qualification yesterday against Cameroon, only the Mozambique-Angola match will be held this Sunday.
