Swiss coach Alain Geiger has been appointed as the new head coach of ASO Chlef, succeeding Rachid Belhout who resigned from the position. Geiger, who was recently relieved of his duties at Al-Ittifaq in Saudi Arabia, has accepted the coaching role at ASO Chlef and is expected to join the team on Sunday.
The decision comes after negotiations with ASO Chlef’s President Abdelkrim Medouar, and Geiger’s agreement to take on the coaching responsibilities. ASO Chlef currently holds a modest 13th place in the standings, having accumulated only 6 points after eight rounds of the championship.
Alain Geiger brings a wealth of coaching experience, having previously managed teams in Switzerland, Morocco (Olympique de Safi), Algeria (JS Kabylie and ES Sétif), and Egypt (El Masry de Port Said). His diverse coaching background positions him to contribute to ASO Chlef’s performance in the Algerian football landscape.
