Coach Walid Regragui expressed his delight at securing an early qualification for the knockout stage of the Africa Cup of Nations for Morocco.
He acknowledged that achieving this feat earlier, preferably in the last match against the Democratic Republic of Congo, was a desire.
However, the primary focus now is on maintaining the top spot and securing a victory against Zambia, emphasized Regragui, stating, “We have no excuses, unlike the previous match.
We’ll be playing in the evening, with relatively lower temperatures and humidity.
We must present ourselves in an honorable manner.”
Addressing potential changes to the Moroccan lineup considering the early qualification, Regragui stated, “We’ll try to be smart.
Some players have yellow cards, and we can’t risk them getting suspended in the Round of 16.
Also, leaving some players without playtime for an extended period could create rhythm issues in the future.
Therefore, we’ll be intelligent in choosing the appropriate lineup to achieve victory tomorrow.”
Regragui confirmed that the Moroccan national team doesn’t face any absences before tomorrow’s match against Zambia, adding, “We practically recovered all players.
As for Nacer Mazraoui, he is with us, and I don’t know the source of the rumor about Bayern Munich’s interest in recalling him. We may see him on the field tomorrow.”
