The Ligue 1 Mobilis resumes this weekend with the opening fixtures of the second half of the season, featuring six matches, while two others have been postponed due to continental commitments.
The 16th round of the Algerian top flight is spread over Friday and Saturday, with three matches scheduled for each day.
Among the highlights are Olympique Akbou’s trip to struggling ES Mostaganem and MC Oran’s away clash with ES Ben Aknoun.
Olympique Akbou (4th, 23 points) are searching for their first win in five matches across all competitions as they travel to Benlhmiti-Larabi stadium to face 15th-placed Mostaganem (9 points), who have lost their last four games.
A victory for OA would see them temporarily climb to second place, while ESM will be eager to exploit home advantage to halt their slide.
MC Oran, also on 23 points and without a win since 8 November, face a challenging encounter against ES Ben Aknoun (9th, 21 points).
The Algiers-based hosts have struggled at home, collecting only nine points from 21, making the match a crucial opportunity for both sides.
JS Saoura (7th, 22 points), buoyed by a 2-0 victory over ES Mostaganem in the Algerian Cup, travel to face southern rivals MB Rouissat (11th, 20 points) in Ouargla.
The fixture promises a close contest, with JSS aiming for a top-three finish while MBR look to consolidate their recent form, having earned four points from their last two matches.
Notably, JSS coach Abdelkader Amrani returns to face the club he began the season with before resigning.
Elsewhere, mid-table CS Constantine (7th, 22 points) are favourites at home against MC El-Bayadh (16th, 6 points), who only secured their first win of the season in matchday 15.
ES Sétif (13th, 16 points) host USM Khenchela (9th, 21 points) in a must-win game to escape the relegation zone, while ASO Chlef (14th, 14 points) begin a new chapter under coach Abdelhak Belaïd against Paradou AC (12th, 17 points).
Postponed fixtures include USM Alger vs JS Kabylie and CR Belouizdad vs MC Alger, due to the clubs’ participation in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup group stages scheduled from Friday to Sunday.
