Despite attracting interest from multiple clubs, including Liverpool, AS Saint-Étienne’s central defender Kurt Zouma will remain with the club for the time being. The decision not to sell key players comes after the departure of Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Borussia Dortmund.
Zouma confirmed his commitment to Saint-Étienne, stating, “There was a lot of transfer noise this summer about me. I can just say one thing. I will be from Stéphanois this season, that’s for sure.” Expressing confidence in the team’s potential, he added, “We have the potential to have good matches and do at least as well as last season.”
This announcement clarifies Zouma’s immediate future, signaling that he will continue to contribute to AS Saint-Étienne’s campaign in the upcoming season despite the transfer speculation surrounding him.
