PSG clinched the Champions Trophy with a narrow victory over Girondins de Bordeaux (2-1) at the Sino-Gabonese Friendship Stadium in Libreville on Saturday. The Champions Trophy is a match between the French Ligue 1 champion and the winner of the Coupe de France.
During the match, the young Gabonese player André Biyogo Poko proved to be a significant threat to Laurent Blanc’s defensive system. The 20-year-old midfielder, also known as the Gabonese Panther, was very active and even had an opportunity to score but missed the decisive goal after breaking through the French Champion’s defense. Biyogo Poko received the trophy for the best player of the match, and he expressed his joy, calling it an unforgettable evening and acknowledging the rewards of his hard work.
Having played 14 Ligue 1 matches last season with Girondins de Bordeaux, Biyogo Poko is expected to have an increased role under coach Francis Gillot in the upcoming season. Bordeaux is set to play its first match of the championship against AS Monaco on August 10.
