Séwé Sport de San Pedro had a successful start in the CAF Champions League, securing a victory in their first group match against Recreativo Do Libolo from Angola with a scoreline of 3-1. The match took place on Saturday at the Robert Champroux Stadium in Abidjan.

Recreativo Libolo, the group leader after their previous victory against Espérance, equalized in the 33rd minute through Sidney Mariano. However, Zougoula swiftly regained the lead for Séwé, scoring two goals in quick succession in the 35th and added time of the first half (45’+2).
The second half remained goalless, but it was marked by the expulsion of Pacôme Agboké, the right side of the Ivorian team, in the 69th minute. With this victory, Séwé Sport de San Pedro claimed the top spot in Group B, surpassing Espérance de Tunis, who won against Coton Sport de Garoua (2-0).
A makeup match between Séwé Sport and Coton Sport, originally scheduled for the first day, will take place on August 11. It was postponed due to a sanction against Fécafoot, which has since been lifted.
