Lille’s Nolan Roux has been handed a three-match suspension by the disciplinary committee of the French Football Federation for spitting, more or less intentionally, towards a referee during a friendly match against Mons on July 21. Despite presenting his version of the events and supporting evidence, Roux faced the disciplinary action. The Lille striker will be unavailable for the first three Ligue 1 matches against Lorient, Reims, and Saint-Etienne due to the suspension.
