On May 7, 2007, Rolland Courbis extended his journey with USM Alger in Ligue 2 (L2). Having reached the end of his contract with the Algerian club, the former coach of Olympique de Marseille decided to prolong his stay for another year, as reported by the APS agency.
Courbis provided his final agreement to the president of USMA, Ali Haddad, signaling his commitment for another year. Joining the coaching staff of USM Algiers in October of the previous year, the French tactician achieved notable success, guiding the team to victory in both the Algerian Cup and the Arab Cup. By the end of the season, USM Alger secured a commendable 4th position in the Algerian championship.
