Courbis provided his final agreement to the president of USMA, Ali Haddad, signaling his commitment for another year. Joining the coaching staff of USM Algiers in October of the previous year, the French tactician achieved notable success, guiding the team to victory in both the Algerian Cup and the Arab Cup. By the end of the season, USM Alger secured a commendable 4th position in the Algerian championship.
