Marlene Emvoutou, an unsuccessful candidate in the recent Fécafoot election, is currently detained in Kondengui central prison. She has been in police custody since July 16, facing allegations related to three fraud cases.
As the representative of the Aspire project, Emvoutou is accused of taking 5 million FCFA from a parent who intended to send their child to Europe as part of the project, which ultimately failed. The parent stated in court that Emvoutou had started to repay the debt.
Emvoutou, known for organizing trips to Qatar and Europe for young footballers, is also accused of taking money from 12 people, totaling around 26 million FCFA, according to reports.
The third case involves the alleged sale of a rented car by Emvoutou. Her lawyer, Christian Ndongo, confirmed that she is under arrest warrant in Kondengui and may be presented to a judge again in the coming hours. The charges against Emvoutou highlight financial irregularities and have led to her current legal situation.
